Embroidered purse

Brick stitch, based on late 14th/early 15th century German purses, with heraldic motif adapted from my SCA device. DMC cotton floss on 28ct cotton evenweave (because I'm too poor to work with large amounts of silk and linen). It's about 5 inches wide, and 6ish inches tall, not including the tassels. Total work time was 63 hrs and 40 min!

Very pretty! Is it lined on the inside?

Thank you :-) Yes.. forgot to mention that. White silk on the inside; the strip along the top is the lining turned out and stitched down. I left the ground fabric sandwiched between that area to give it extra support because the silk is somewhat flimsy, but it looks nice..

Nice work! That looks gorgeous. I particularily like the pattern on the back and the colours. I like understated things.

And it's so nicely finished with tassles and the whole bit.

Great Pattern!

I really like the way you've adapted the pattern to incorporate your device. Better than doing a straight copy of existing patterns!!

Cheers,
Jane
